When an American MCCH partner team said goodbye to MCCH Kenyan staff and Mescal's Kids while departing Kenya in November 2019, no one imagined it would be over 20 months before anyone from the United States would be able to visit MCCH again. Praise the Lord, on July 14, 2021, a small team of three people will make the trip from Montgomery, AL, and Thomasville, GA, to Luanda, Kenya, to spend time with our MCCH Kenyan ministry partners and Mescal's Kids!
Charlotte Robertson, MCCH President, Jeff Bush, MCCH Vice President, and Emily Griffin, MCCH Program Director, will make up the team traveling to Kenya July 14-28. One of the main focuses of the trip will be assisting MCCH Kenyan ministry partners as they finalize details and prepare for the opening of Mescal's Christian Academy, which may open while Charlotte, Jeff, and Emily are on the ground in Kenya. Our Kenyan ministry partners have done an outstanding job overseeing the construction of the school and collaborating with existing schools to locate and register the most vulnerable children in the community, all while doing their part to create a team of kingdom-focused educators for Mescal's Christian Academy (MCA). We are beyond grateful for their prayerful and wise leadership in this project which was born in the heart of MCCH Founder and Executive Director, Ruth Owuor, as a way to make a long-term impact for Christ in the Luanda community. Will you join us in praying for these ongoing endeavors as opening day for MCA approaches? Download a daily prayer guide for the month of July here. Follow along with us as we do our best to share the story of the remarkable work God is doing in Kenya through Mescal's Children's Center of Hope!
